Discover the spiritual heart of the Aegean with a pilgrimage to Patmos, one of Greece’s most revered islands. Known as the place where the Book of Revelation was written, the island offers a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere—perfect for reflection and escape.

Itinerary

Day 1: Thessaloniki – Piraeus

Departure from Thessaloniki at 08:00 with intermediate stops in Larissa and Lamia. Arrival at the port of Piraeus and boarding the ferry. Overnight sailing to Patmos.

Day 2: Patmos

Early morning arrival and transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, visit the Cave of the Apocalypse, where John the Apostle received and dictated the Book of Revelation. Continue to the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian (1088 AD), dominating the island’s skyline. Visit additional sacred sites including the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi and Panagia Diasozousa. Free time followed by a visit to the resting place of Saint Nektarios. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Patmos – Lipsi – Patmos (Optional)

Breakfast and optional excursion to Lipsi, believed in mythology to be the island of Calypso. Visit Panagia tou Charou, known for its rare icon depicting Christ not as an infant but crucified. Return to Patmos and enjoy free time. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Patmos – Piraeus – Thessaloniki

Attend Divine Liturgy at the Cave of the Apocalypse. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Visit the Monastery of the Annunciation and the Chapel of All Saints (Panagia Koumana). Boarding the ferry for return to Piraeus. Arrival in the evening and transfer back to Thessaloniki with intermediate stops.
