Itinerary
Lake Kerkini
Our journey begins at Lake Kerkini, one of Greece’s most important wetlands and a protected natural area. Enjoy free time for optional traditional boat rides, birdwatching, and wildlife observation. The lake is famous for its pelicans, water buffalo, and rich biodiversity. We also pass by the Lithotopos Dam, offering panoramic views ideal for photos.
Ano Poroia
We then head to Ano Poroia, a picturesque village surrounded by lush greenery at the foot of Mount Beles. Enjoy a walk through the stone-paved streets and free time for lunch with traditional local dishes. A coffee break under the centuries-old plane trees of the village square is a must. There is also optional horse riding available in the surrounding natural landscape.
Serres
Our final stop is the town of Serres, where you’ll have free time to stroll along the pedestrian streets, visit the historic Lion of Amphipolis, and sample the area’s famous local sweet, akanes, before returning.
