With a time and starting point of your own choice, we start from the well-known village of Oia ,admiring the deep blue of the Aegean. We take pictures at the famous “Caldera”, we wander at the small alleys and at the special unique market of Oia. After having tasted the amazing scenery of Oia ,our next quick stop is at the village “Firostefani” which is situated at the north of Fira, a beautiful spot for taking photos, having the volcano as a background.
Our next stop is the convent of Profitis Ilias, the highest spot of the island (567m) with a breathtaking view. Today ,the convent hosts an important collection of holy images ,handwritten books and rare ecclesiastical items.
Next stop is the archaeological site of Akrotiri, one of the most essential pre-historic settlements of the Aegean Sea. The first inhabitants date back from the late Neolithic times at the 4th century BC.
Our last stop is the medieval village of Pyrgos which used to be the old capital of the island. Pyrgos is the highest village of Santorini in which we can admire a number of churches, traditional houses and picturesque alleys .For those who may feel hungry or thirsty we can enjoy refreshments or local food at a restaurant of the village.
